Sex toys in my bedside drawer

I have a Lucy Lemon - should I tell me kids now or leave it for them to find when I die - I also have others.

I assume my DH would get rid of them for me ( or keep hold of them out of nostalgia). In all seriousness I think in this day and age the majority of people my generation have them and have had them since their 20's so non issue.

Imagine if it gets sold to someone or given to a charity shop and someone finds more than they bargained for haha

Oh don't 😂

Should have made the secret compartment in an antique cupboard. Then it might have made it onto the Antique Road show. Can you just imagine the commentary as they talk their way through examining the chest of drawers!

My Mum had a box in her bedside tabled labelled "DON'T OPEN, JUST BIN IT".

I heeded the warning and put it with the stuff ready to bin. Unfortunately my brother then picked it up and just opened it without noticing the warning.

The sex toys weren't the problem, but he was rather more fazed by the polaroids.

So, box with a label does the job, just make sure its a really obvious label!

I'm widowed and have a couple of items hidden away. This is one thing that worries me but I like the idea of a lock box to keep them in. I may look for one with a code rather than a traditional lock, as there's always a chance of them finding the key 😅

But they might get a professional to open it in case there's anything valuable in it 😲

I very much look forward to this episode of the Antiques Roadshow in years to come 😂

"Well, what you’ve brought along today is a very attractive late-Victorian walnut chest of draws, probably dating from around 1880. Lovely figuring to the timber, original brass fittings, and these pieces quite often contain little concealed compartments. In fact, if I press this tiny catch here… there we are… a secret drawer. And inside we have… ah. Well. That’s certainly not Victorian. What we appear to have is a rather substantial electric personal massager of considerably later manufacture. You say the chest of draws belonged to your grandmother and stood in her bedroom for fifty years? Right. Well, provenance is always terribly important on the Antiques Roadshow, although perhaps in this instance we needn’t pursue it too vigorously. As for value, I’d put the chest of draws at around £800 to £1,200 at auction. As for the 12" suction cup dildo with arse tickler, you will fetch around £500-600. Thankyou so much for sharing these wonderful pieces with us"

I’d write a message on the outside saying something like ‘do not open, just dispose, no money or valuables inside’. Hopefully they’d get the message.

They decide a locked box must be something like money or jewellery. Therefore take it to locksmith to get opened......................

I would leave a reminder to myself to chuck the sex toys once I no longer had any libido, or failing that, tell my closest friend to dispose of them after my death, not my family.

MightyGoldBear · 16/09/2026 11:29

I think the fruit vibrators particularly look like dog toys surely all the children would gather round and say ah the neighbours dog toy somehow wound up here, looks old let's bin it and never ever talk about this ever again. 😂

I think I'd just be pleased my relative had some fun in their life.

What will they do, knock on the door and ask for the sex toys back as they were actually theirs and OP was just borrowing them? 😂

Ikr. Wtf is that all about?! 🤣🤣

Think this is the best idea, off to buy a box. Thanks

Exactly, the one time where I won’t be overthinking 😂

What happens if you get killed today in a car accident 😀
