Have been on the site since 2005.
Have gained so much!
From seemingly trivial (Use scissors for everything /cut pizza with scissors) and so many witty and funny threads
to

  • fab hol advice -ski places/toll tags for driving in Europe: camping in France
  • schools for our DC
  • discovered EXH having afffair - the support I recieved that night was amazing
I don’t post often now but log in most days and love the community.

Accidently becoming a raving feminist after wandering onto FWR. Ended up going to meetings and meeting other mumsnetters. In those days we met in secret in various pubs around London due to threat of violence.

Yes, I struggle with friendships but chatting to people on here/ responding to questions feels like I’m part of a community

Support on the evening I found out that my exhusband was on hook up sites again and I kicked him out

Support regarding expressing breastmilk

Reading the crazy Christmas guest threads when I was alone at Christmas and DC with their dad.

Keeping up to date with skincare products and techniques on Style and Beauty.

It has definitely helped me to recognise inequity in relationships and to have higher expectations of men. I have a high awareness of red flags, but maybe too much 🤔 😆

I only use Mumsnet when I am bored and procrastinating.

The biggest one for me was a thread from someone years ago, who posted about qualifying as a nurse in her early 50s and how much she was enjoying work. (I hope she still does.)
It inspired me to also do a degree in healthcare which I thought I was too old for and now I’m qualified.
Thank you for the poster for the amazing inspiration!

I think MN is probably my closest and longest lasting relationship.

I’ve made some fabulous friends and am going on holiday with one of them next month!
