Child disability payment Scotland

Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone can shed light on CDP. I've applied for my 21 month old son who is non verbal and showing signs of ASD although where I am they won't test until 2.
I was advised to apply for Child disability payment. Today I needed to check something with them and was told a decision has been made but no letter was on the system. Has anyone else experienced this?

It’s totally normal for them to say a decision has been made but refuse to tell you what it is. I am in several facebook groups and this doesn’t necessarily indicate the decision is a no, often people will just find a back payment in their bank before a letter comes. The vast majority of people who call or use live chat don’t get told the outcome. I have seen people be given their decision by phone/chat but it’s the minority. I know it’s hard, but try not to worry. Them saying there is no letter is just their way of saying ‘wait’

@moleinthehouse its more a letter isn't on the system that threw me. As they said its basically just not been put on the system. Apparently it was approved on the 6th of September which was a Sunday. I'm just getting myself stressed everything just seems like a battle when all you really want is just support for your child.

It’s probably there and they are just saying that so you can’t keep pushing them to tell you the result. It’s a really common tactic of the SSS. What I will say though is that no letter makes no sense as a rejection indicator as you get a letter either way. There will be a letter for sure but if they tell you there is no letter it removes the ‘what does it say?’ questions for them.

@moleinthehouse I totally understand that and I wasn't pushing to know what the decision was. It was just the confusion when they'd said no letter had been on the system yet and to call back on Friday when the person who'd signed it off was back in the office. The lack of letter doesn't make me think it's been rejected. The fact it's been over a week and I've not had a payment when it's usually 3 - 5 working days is what's making me think it has been. I know I'm over thinking it all and nothing will change the outcome but after being let down so many times because he's too young or just a boy/twin I'm at my wits end.

They don’t know you are not going to ask them to tell you what’s in the letter. It’s a really standard response for them to say it’s not there yet.
