What to expect when registering with a new GP practice

When I first registered with a GP when I moved to the UK 25yrs ago, the practice nurse checked BP, height/weight, urine etc. Does the same thing happen when I move from one GP to another or I only see someone if I book a specific appointment? I have no regular medications, so rarely see my GP and unsure what to expect?

Nope if you move GPs they have access to your old records and won't see you unless you have a specific need.

I moved to in December and I didn't have to do any of that, not seen a GP yet. I just get my repeat prescriptions

Thanks both, so likely just register at new place and won't see anyone till I book in with someone- when needed.

You fill in a from and that’s it until you need something.
