Do I need to tell work how often I use each address?

I'm contracted to WFH. DH and I bought a 2nd, derelict, property which has been renovated over several years to get it liveable. I've only used my 1st address on all work documentation.

My plan, is to move all work documents to the 2nd address, once I've registered with a GP there, changed my drivers licence address, bank statements etc. Work is asking for a break down of how often I work from each location. Is this something I need to provide? Colleagues who have a holiday home and spent the entire summer and all holidays living there haven't needed to provide details. Is a main residence just based on how long I stay somewhere or having all documents/GP/dentist at a location?

Is it in Scotland or Wales? There are different tqc codes?

From a council tax perspective, we count your main residence as the place where eg your utility bills go, where you are registered on the electoral roll, where your GP is ( presumably nearby) etc. One has to be the main residence so the other one can be called a second home. Unless you and your husband each plan to live at one of your addresses, which would be unusual but not unheard of, you will have to at some point alert your council to the day that you make it your permanent residence. The. That’s the one you tell work, just tell them you’ve moved house.
presumably you have altered them to the second home scenario, hence them asking. Could your colleagues who have holiday homes just not have mentioned it?

To clarify, both properties are in England and I do pay council tax for both, along with utilities for each. All documentation: bank, HMRC, GP, voting is at my main home address which work have. I'm starting the process of moving things to the 2nd home address and plan to move it all over- which I've told work I will be doing.

My question is: is my main residence where I spent more days of the week currently? Or only once ALL documents have changed to the new address? I don't have a hard move in date so unsure at what point I can claim the 2nd home as my main residence?

Have they explained why they want that information? Is there a reason you don't want them to know? It seems fairly mundane information

Is there a reason you don't want them to know?

Its not that I don't want them to know how often I stay at the 2nd home, its
A) Is it any of their business when I've told them my main home is still my main residence?
B) I don't have a day to day diary of every hour/day I've visited the 2nd home to check tile colours, pick doors etc or when I've stayed overnight and worked from there.

Id probably just pluck a number out of thin air then. But id also ask them why they need to know just in case I was missing something

How do they even know about second house? I would say I currently live in A will let you know when I move. Leave it at that

Could it be for health & safety or business continuity? Maybe they need to know where people actually are in case of emergency? Dunno. I’d ask them.
