Anxiety over blood pressure and taking it

Hi all,
can anyone help me with my anxiety on blood pressure?
my blood pressure shoots up when I take it, then on 2-3 attempt it dramatically drops down to low readings ( very low infact) I know I have anxiety in general and about this as I am a bit traumatised from blood pressure problem during pregnancy.

I get heavy / achy left arm, which I’ve been checked out for, all fine with heart but this then triggers anxiety and I keep checking etc and falling into a constant loop of anxiety.

I think my Bp is ok during normal times as the readings show that, so I think the trigger being the monitor , so I’m assuming at times I’m not checking ( so throughout normal day) it means it’s ok?

anyone can help make me feel more reassured and stop me checking it ten million times a day! The first number I see sends me into a panic!!

Just stop taking it.
Problem solved.

It’s a vicious circle, are you pregnant again or just worried about your BP being high. I was the same after giving birth, I had pre eclampsia so it freaked me out.

sounds like health anxiety but if you have other symptoms you can always speak to your GP and they can do a 7 day monitor. My BP and heart rate always sky rockets at the drs or hospital!

Have you got a monitor that stores your readings? Could you just take two or three readings five minutes apart without looking at the screen, then only look at what the last two readings when you are finished? Make sure you are sat still for a bit before you take it, maybe do some box breathing before you start and in between readings?
