Can anyone beat my son's record?

So far this term my DS, aged 9, has lost:

Gloves x3
Hat
Handball shoes
Bike helmet
Goggles
Hood (I know they detach for safety reasons but I cannot stand this feature as it just gives him more things to lose)
His entire new school bag

In the lost but found again category we have:

Nokia phone
Another hat
More gloves
Socks
Jumper

Can anyone beat that, because I believe he could be a contender for the world championships in jettisoning your belongings wherever you go?

My daughter loses things all the time, keys and bank cards are her favourites, she’s recently been diagnosed with ADHD, which explains why, it’s so frustrating.

That is the work of a true master! We're not far behind with one school jumper, one PE hoodie, one coat, two water bottles and one lunch bag. Why I thought I could get away with only buying her one of each type of jumper, I will never know. Ironically, she has also got lost whilst trying to find the lost property cupboard, and now won't try again.

Almost all of it is labelled with name and phone number and we'll probably get some of it back, but it's such a pain.

He is currently banned from taking more gloves or hats until we get items back, he's not allowed to ride his bike until we get the helmet, he has to carry his stuff in an old Spiderman drawstring bag and use goggles from the spares box for school swimming.

Ultimately some things will need to be replaced if not found, like he will need to wear gloves as it gets colder, but I am considering making him pay for the smaller items himself.

That is incredible 😄 I think he knew where the lost and found was from week 1 of starting school, you'll have to go in and show her!

we were walking through town yesterday and saw a pair of school trousers draped over a fence, and later a school sweatshirt on a bench!!

If you have the time, it's very kind to check if they have a phone number on the label and if so send a quick text with the location.
I have lost count of the number of things we have found thanks to the help of kind people around our town. Including a shoe that DS had somehow dropped on a pavement nowhere near his normal route 🫤

But yes, it's an epidemic as soon as the schools start. If you've ever been in a lost and found room the sheer volume of stuff in there is staggering. I hope those kids manage to find their trousers and jumper!

Today he managed to find the hat, two of the gloves, the helmet, the bag and one of the shoes 🥳

I may have expressed my dismay to him in quite strong terms this morning and it seems it got through. Well for today anyway.

But we might not be in first place anymore.

Many years ago my dear daughter threw my sons school jumper out of the window of the car unbeknown to me , she was a 2 year old toad at the time ( it was named and had the school emblem on it ) a dear lady found it in her garden ,called the school , I was able to collect with a bunch of flowers. It’s such a sweet memory because we used to look for jumper lady in her garden and give her a wave !!! This was 30 years ago and I still smile about jumper lady .

You were blessed!! Seriously. My daughter was exactly the same and still loses the odd item here and there, though at 11 she's a thousand times better than she was.
