How do you capture them and take them outside when you’re terrified of them and live alone? I’ve just had two enormous ones in my house I screamed, luckily my neighbours always have their back door open they came running out wondering what was wrong, and got them for me.

Get yourself a spider catcher from Amazon. Not the one that sucks them up, but one with bristles that open at the end. Game changer.

Agree with those spider catchers. Really effective at arms length.

Get a cat. Mine eat all the house spiders. The only one I've seen lately is legs sticking out of my cat's mouth.

I'm the same - but, honestly, after using that catcher a few times, I became much more bold.

Think I will have to get one I can’t keep having my neighbours getting them for me, I think they thought I was being murdered 😂

I’ve got one of them. It’s a game changer and stops the fear as the fear comes from you trying to run away from it. The fear is not the spider it’s the anxiety looking at it gives you. The panic of trying to catch is taken away with the spider catcher. Also if you can stand the daddy long legs type they kill and eat them. This was one in my bathroom the other day, my dd had seen a huge one in her bedroom before school and was panicking it would be there when she got home but this girl caught it

I don't like the look of the spider catcher shown above. Its like a load of plastic leaves that picks it up. It all looks all a bit precarious to me,

I have something similar (picture not included) in that its a plastic pyramid with a sliding door for the base and is on the end of a stick. Much more secure once you have caught the blighter. I am sure they will be available on amazon or somewhere.

I normally put a glass over them, a bit of paper or card slid underneath and drop spider outside.

My older one used to before she retired. My younger one can’t be arsed.

Honestly I wish I could but I literally shake when I see them think it’s some sort of phobia

What stops the big leggy ones clambering out of the end of that spider catcher (and obviously then eating my face off)?

They look good but I need to know they're secure before I get one.

I feel for you, OP. Spiders don't usually bother me, but there are two absolutely enormous ones in my shower cubicle right now <shudder>

At times like this I'm grateful to be short sighted because I can't see them with my glasses off.

Get a cat. Seriously she is stone cold spider assassin. She’s employee of the month every month in this house. I’ve had a cat since I moved out at 17 for this exact reason, and now even though I’ve got a husband who can kill them for me he hardly needs to because she’s just on her a game.

I'm very scared of spiders but overtime I made peace with them. If there's one in the living room, I make myself known, and then I leave the room for a few hours. They never stay once they met me and my dog (not offense taken)

Except for one who was living in my boiler cupboard, she was very peaceful and never wandered away so we had an agreement. I gave it a name, and said hi every morning.
She left when I painted the cupboard. She apparently didn't like my home decor choices.

There might be some living in my flat now, but as long as I don't see them, I don't mind anymore.

Looks like the one I have. I’ve only had one escape back up when the brush bit became all worn and frayed and even then it was slow. I’ve carried one out my house and up the road before where it started to run after me lol

I would not trust that bristly thing. It does not look sturdy enough. What if it came flying down the handle. Or jumped onto me (this happened to me years ago). I was sat on my sofa last week and one ran along the back of it past my head. I caught sight of it as it zoomed past my shoulder. It was absolutely massive. And I saw one scurry under my laundry basket in my bedroom last night. It's all too much! I hate this time of year. All towels have to get a shaking when I take them off the rail. I am living on my nerves
