Which sofa companies to use or avoid?

Thoughts please on sofa companies which you recommend to use or avoid.

I visited a sofa.com showroom today and liked Anders and Malibu, so if you have experience of them in particular I'd appreciate your thoughts. But recommendations for any company to use or avoid, or things to consider are appreciated.

Thank you

There was a recent thread about sofas which I'll link if I can find it.
We too are searching- which feels endless! We thought we'd found the one online, but when we tried it, the seating was stiff and not comfortable. We then learnt you can get inner springs like a mattress and multiple other features I'd never thought of. Our old sofa was from Harveys, but they went bust years ago.

Sofa.com are now owned by Mike Ashley, and where Mike Ashley goes the quality drops.

I'm currently sofa shopping myself and it's so bloody hard to choose! 😭

I'm avoiding DFS, Sofology as they have terrible reviews. I'm tempted by Barker and Stonehouse as overall they seem to get good feedback.

I wouldn't recommend sofa.com. We got a corner sofa from them 6 years ago and it requires constant plumping. If we don't do it (which is most of the time as we are busy and the sofa is used a lot!) it looks awful. The back cushions are concertina'ed down and the seat cushions sag beyond belief.
I'm so fed up looking at it (plus slightly tired now of the colour) that I'm in the market for a new sofa but no idea where to try.

I wouldn’t recommend M & S. There are only two of us, no kids and the seat cushions looked completely baggy after just a month. They sent an inspector out who declared it fine ( it looked terrible) so we had to pay an upholstery company to put it right. They used to be so good.

I have had a few different ones. Darlings of Chelsea- great quality but $$$. Loaf (outlet) really really comfortable but looks like crap without plumping (but worth it for the comfort in a more casual room). Barker and Stonehouse - don't have these anymore but they were the sweet spot of price and quality but colours more limited. Sofas and Stuff - super spendy but check their outlet page in case you get lucky. Tempted by Tetrad as their quality is supposed to be amazing dn they are not that expensive in the scheme of things.

We have bought twice from Lucas World Of Furniture, they are based in the Home Counties but deliver nationally. Not cheap but they have a fantastic range.
That said, if you can't try before you buy I would be very cautious. You spend a lot of time sat down so you want to know it is comfortable.

ScS have been fabulous. We’ve brought 2 sofas off them in 2 years and would gladly use them again
