Why would refunded trainers still be listed online at a much higher price

so last week I purchased a pair of new trainers on eBay. they are cheap ones.(screenshot attached)
all was well until I got an email saying they couldn't send them out as they were faulty. so I got a full refund.
had a look and they are still up but now for £250
no one would ever buy them for that much.
makes no sense to me.

Maybe the seller thinks they’ll get lucky - who knows? 🤷‍♀️

Sometimes sellers put a ridiculously high price while they wait for more stock figuring no one will buy it at that price

This and also it keeps their listing higher in the searches than if they make another new listing.

Am I missing something? Your picture says £8.95.

That was what OP was originally going to pay until she got told they couldn't be sent. She hasn't put a picture showing the price of the relisted shoes

Apologies I can’t see what I did wrong. Should not have posted so early.
but here is the new listing
