Think I could possibly have gallstones.
Now following a very low fat/zero fat diet with no pain for a few weeks.
If you have had this, how long before you heard about an ultrasound scan, what did you do diet wise and did you get any flares while following this diet while waiting?
Any top tips to stay well?
Thanks all

I had mine removed 20 years ago but from memory the ultrasound scan was quick after I saw the Dr however my symptoms were horrific (severe pain, vomiting etc) anc they told me at the scan it was gallstones.

A low fat diet helped a bit but after a while any food caused pain and I ended up with pancreatitis. They took it out as an emergency and the relief was instant.

I had my scan 2 days later because the first symptom I ever had was a mystery severe pain and an ambulance was called for me and they took me to A&E.

I waited 7 months for surgery with my op date being rescheduled 4 times.

I followed a low fat diet in the meantime but 2 other things triggered flare ups:

-Spicy food even if low fat
-Not eating enough and being hungry

The low fat diet isn’t actually healthy to follow tbh as fat is how you absorb nutrients like vitamin D.

I had them 20yrs ago.

Diagnosis was while I was in hospital after being taken via ambulance due to severe pain one night.
Had my GB out a few months later. Not straight forward and was in for a week due to pancreatitis. Never an issue since.

No fried food. Fish and chips was a huge trigger for me. I think it was the batter on the fish. I had a couple of episodes of huge pain. Had a scan. No stones yet but gallbladder sludge which is a precursor to stones. Low fat diet and just a lot more careful with what I eat. Apple cider vinegar in warm water every morning. Get an organic one with the ‘mother’ in the bottom. No more symptoms for me. Also lost quite a bit of weight and was more active. How is your weight and activity level OP? Hope you feel better soon My Dr said something like ‘fat, fair, and forty’ was a good description of women who got gallbladder issues. I wasn’t offended as it was accurate. 😬
ps was also quite a heavy drinker. Not now. Don’t know if that’s related.

It’s been around 3 weeks since I saw the nurse who referred me for an ultrasound, not heard anything.
No pain for around 4 weeks now. Being extremely careful with what I eat.

Unsure what to do really as I’ve had no pain so seem to be controlling it myself so far.
