Jellycat - going under?

Ordered a ridiculously expensive Jellycat as a gift on 9th September. It's never been sent, still shows as pending on their website, but the item I ordered shows as out of stock!! They blatantly ignore all emails (four so far...). Just looked on TP for reviews and there are a lot of recent reviews telling a similar story. They're not going under are they? I'd imagine they're bloody rolling in it given what they charge for cute but ordinary cuddly toys?

I doubt it. They do take a while to dispatch orders in my experience.

Kpo58 · 12/09/2026 12:37

I doubt it, but they aren't very pleasant as a company considering how they treat their retailers and make it very hard for people who aren't large orders directly through their website to get the rarer jellycats.

Also terrible for stopping local shops, who have sold Jellycat for years, and stopped them being allowed to sell them anymore, and were really supporting the brand.

Very much doubt they are going under. They're just terrible for customer service 😞

I don’t think 3 working days is hideously slow for dispatch, they’re not Amazon.

inamarina · 12/09/2026 14:18

I wasn’t aware of how they treated some of their stockists and just googled it - how unpleasant to cut business ties so abruptly!
I mean, those little shops rely on them, but they have surely also contributed to Jellycat’s popularity?

You ordered at some point on Wed 9th.
On Ssturday - 2 full working days later you are complaining? Give it til the middle of this week begore you start e-mailing.
But yes, prepare yourself for them being unable to fulfill the order, and getting a refund.

Not with Jellycat, but ive had 2 (big) retailers fo that to me recently.

Sartre · 14/09/2026 17:42

Highly doubt it given the mark up on their soft toys and how many sell out!

3 working days?

Yes there has only been three working days since your order. And you've already sent four emails in that time?!

Wasn't there the option to pay for next day delivery?

NameChangeScot · 14/09/2026 17:47

You've sent 4 emails in the space of 3 working days? Calm down! Give them a chance.

NotEnoughRoom · 14/09/2026 17:49

I placed an order at lunchtime on Friday 4th, had confirmation it had been shipped on 7th, and it was delivered on 9th.

my email stated delivery within 4 working days so that seems reasonable to me

BloominJellycat · 16/09/2026 08:10

@BlingOnion Oops, typo. I meant I ordered on Friday 4th not 9th. Sorry for confusion.

Anyway an update, after several emails they've come back with an explanation and apology and the item is now on its way. A technical warehouse glitch stopped the order from being picked and sent apparently.

Agree. Their behaviour towards independent businesses really put me off the brand.

ByCosyGoose · 25/09/2026 11:59

Please don’t buy Jellycat from My Tiny Muffin. They are are scammers sending fake items from China. They strenuously resist returns but if you get beyond their stalling and the derisory incremental compensation offers they make you find out the items have to go to China with shipping and customs at your expense….
