Postpartum recovery apps after C-section: what are people using?

hi all
I was wondering what apps people are using postpartum to recover from birth (I had a c section) and is are there are challenges you’ve faced using the apps?

Not an app but I would definitely recommend Chrissie Gallagher-Mundy's book Caesarian Recovery.

Deliveroo so you don't have to get the shopping?

I'm not really sure how else an app would help you recover from a C-section.

I had two c sections. Hang in there, you will feel better in a few weeks. How long ago was it?

I understand why you might want an app to tell you what to expect. I never came across one though.

By three weeks you should be mostly pain free. By 4-6 weeks you should be going about the place with full mobility. By 12 months it'll be nearly like it never happened.

For the first 2-3 days though it may be very painful to even stand up straight

I saw a properly qualified, recommended by friends, women’s physio. I don’t think anything I could have done at home would have been an adequate substitute. I was walking the dogs pain free with DD in a sling within a week or so and running comfortably again at 3ish months. I kept seeing her through the cancer diagnosis I got at 4 months pp. She is amazing and I credit her with how well I recovered from it all.

It’s more so what to expect after c-section, scar massages, deep core breathing work that type of thing

Wow I’m almost 9 weeks pp and not cleared yet. Did you do anything specific In those initial few weeks post operation? Based on how I feel I don’t know if I’ll be able to be running like you haha

I’m 9wks pp and just got cleared I’m looking more on the side of recovery, scar message, breath work, also getting feeling back in my lower stomach it’s fairly numb in places I wonder if that will ever go away

Do look up the car seat lift that isn’t slinging it into the crook of you arm. You kind of thread your arm through the handle - it keeps you in a straighter line.

mondaytosunday · 12/09/2026 09:03

I’ve had two. I’m not sure why you think you need to do anything special. Keep the wound dry and clean and avoid driving and lifting heavy things. But you are up and about pretty quickly and walking is always good.

Rejoinedforthis · 12/09/2026 09:08

OP other than making sure I always stood up straight (and that was my mum’s advice!) everything else like scar massage, releasing my mid back, core work etc was done with the physio - it was £ but it was completely worth it as I have no numbness around my scar, my core is strong, I have no c section “shelf” etc. I rave about her because she also got my arm moving again, I had cording in my armpit from having lymph nodes removed (breast cancer) and she got rid of that at the same time as all my c section rehab. In case you’re local to Surrey/Sussex her name is Gemma Pilkington. Wishing you the best with your recovery ❤️

How did you deal with numbness? I’m 9wks pp and walking still leaves me aching
