And the police are blocking all the main roads off in town, I’m supposed to be getting an uber to get my hair done, should I reschedule?

Sometimes businesses close for safety reasons maybe ring and ask or explain you’ll struggle to get there.

Yes I have called them and rescheduled now. We live on the main road into town so didn’t want to end up stuck !

Hardly putting Britain first are they….causing loss of income to all the shops, businesses and taxis in their own town 🤷‍♀️

I think you have reached a good decision as I am sure many people will be glad to know you will not be caught up in this. Some that go along are only there to cause trouble. Staying near to home is best.

Agreed.
just like the relentless Pro Palestinian marches in London. It just annoys anyone who lives there or has an appointment or business there.
i would have a quiet day catching up on things at home.
