Blest headphones to completely block external noise

Help please! I’m looking for the best headphones which will completely block out external noise but will give me the option to connect to Bluetooth to have music on. I’m adhd, waiting on autism assessment and struggle massively with external noises. Has anyone been in a similar position? There’s so many on the market and I don’t want to make the wrong decision! I do prefer the in ear type but get the feeling the over head type ones will be better for noise cancelling

The best I've tried are the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra. They're not cheap but they're amazing.

Consider how much time you will wear them. The Bose one mentioned are good but hurt my ears after anymore than couple of hours. AirPod pro I can wear for days on end.

everyone is shaped differently but do consider head pressure/ ear pressure with overheads.

I find NC much better in the AirPods for some reason. Mine are also 3 plus years old so current ones are probably even better.

a few things to consider. It’s personal choice.

Key point is that it’s worth getting a decent pair/ decent price point. But that’s more reason to ensure comfort. My over heads feel great to start with so not helpful when trying on briefly in a shop.

Is the the air pods ones that go over your head that your talking about or the in ear ones? I like apple products as all my devices are apple. I’m happy to spend the money I just need to block the external sounds.

In ear

I think over-ear ones are great and much more comfortable than in-ear. I can wear Bose for a 10 hour flight and it cuts out engine noise.

be aware that all noise cancelling headphones are best at cutting out repetitive noises like a plane engine and are worse for unpredictable noises like people talking. But they will reduce the noise.

if you go to a big shop like John Lewis or curry’s you can try different brands for size.
