Reverting back to maiden name

I've decided to revert back to my maiden name; haven't been married long & just prefer 'my' name. 🙂
Can I revert back to my maiden name on my driving licence but leave passport in married name until it expires? 🤔

How long until it expires?

either way… if your are going to do this (again!), in for penny in for a pound. This just seems half arsed.

I won’t ask why!

Well I've been married nearly 18mths & had new passport in married name, so it's got 8 ish years left on it.

You can use either name as you choose so you can keep your passport but will need to book everything in your married name so they match

I left my passport in my maiden name for ages after getting married for the same reason - didn't have any issues with having driving license in the married and passport in the maiden. I also refused to pay £80 just to change it.

You could. There's no rush. Just make sure any travel tickets you book are in the name that matches the passport.

I'm quite curious about you changing to your married name on everything and then wanting to change it back again. No judgement (I never wanted to take my married name), just wondering nosily!

I’d be interested in a thread about why!

🙂 I never really liked his name but decided to go for it & use the married name but it isn't me & so I am going to change back (apart from the passport! 😉)

Good for you. I've been happily married for almost 30 years but I still prefer my unmarried name and wish I'd never changed it. There are literally a handful of people with that name in the world and if I'd thought more about it I'd have passed it on to my children.
