Inspired by Helpmyarse and her sausage and bean pie.

So what are your family recipes that are quick and easy family dinners? Tins, packets, frozen veg and pre chopped veg galore. If you're the kind of person that only ever cooks from scratch or doesn't eat a morsel of anything vaguely processed then kindly, this isn't the thread for you.

My contribution would be pasta bake.

Half a bag frozen peppers/Mediterranean veg mix
Small can sweetcorn
Third of a bag of pasta uncooked.
Shake of dried herbs
Tin tomatoes
Squeeze tomato puree
Teaspoon veg stock powder/veg stock cube
Tin drained tuna

Mix the lot in a baking dish. Fill the tomato tin up with water and add to the dish. Mix again well.
Cover with a lid/foil and bake on 200 degrees for about 20 mins. Uncover, mix again, top with cheese and bake unbaked for another 20 mins on 200 degrees.

My kids love this.

I have one with chopped onions and peppers, tinned tomatoes, cooked chicken, a pat of Boursin some chicken stock, paprika and pasta. Mix it all in a baking tray, cover and bung in the oven for 30 mins, take the foil off and sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for 10 minutes til cheese is bubbly. I don’t care if the veggies are frozen, pre-chopped or fresh, the chicken is often left over from a roast. Dinner on the table with 10 minutes prep and some cooking time with no fuss.

Cook pasta, add peas 1 minute before switching off hob.
Drain
Away from heat add butter and grated cheese and pepper. Stir together and serve.

Done in about 12 minutes.

I offer you the delight that is the tinned new potato! Drain, season, toss in olive oil and heat on a baking tray in a very hot oven. Might have some tonight. With another staple, a pack of hot smoked salmon fillets. Open the pack, put on plate, serve.

Add to a baking tray a block of feta cheese and a packet of cherry tomatoes, cook for 20 mins at 200. Boil some pasta, mush the cheese and tomato with a potato masher, stir in the cooked pasta. Add on some sausage meat meatballs if you fancy.

I love tinned new potatoes. I fry them in a bit of butter and oil til they go crispy, roastie alikes in about 10 minutes.

Salsa chicken. It's just chicken breasts, fajita seasoning, frozen peppers and a jar of salsa poured over. I sometimes do it in the slow cooker but it's better done in the oven topped with cheese, jalapenos and crushed up Doritos.
