Can GP fit notes temporarily pause Universal Credit work commitments for IBS?

What can I do to get a temporary stop on UC work commitments, can I get back to back drs notes and submit those ?

I don’t get PIP and wouldn’t qualify for it anyway, but I literally cannot work or look for work at the moment. I don’t know when I’ll be able to.

im going through a severe flare up of IBS and just need to be at home all the time.

I imagine they do. There's no harm in asking.
I still work 3 days a week as I've never totally cracked my IBS.

I imagine they might say that being at home doesn’t stop you from sitting on a computer and job searching.

Yeah I think they have to? I went into the system before UC was introduced but I remember getting doctors notes excusing me from job seeking as I was first on JSA.

It’s the expectation to attend any interviews that arise from the job searching , unless I could do them online but then I can’t give a definite time frame to be better by.

It’s literally ruining my life at the moment and I don’t even know what has triggered such a severe flare up and none of the usual treatments are working at all I’m devastated

Yes if your doctor agrees that you are too ill to work.

Yes they can and then after so many weeks of fit notes it’ll trigger an assessment for limited capability to work

You can report your health condition and self certify for 7 days on your UC account and report a fit note from day 8. Your work search activity will be switched off, so no requirements to job search. After a couple of weeks, you will have commitments tailored for your health and wellbeing, so still no requirements to work or look for work. You will only need required to look for work if you stop reporting for notes or you are found fit for work following a work capability assessment.
