Do staff go into rooms and spray nice smells?

I checked into my room earlier. It smelt nice and clean but not really noticeable. Did my business, went down for dinner and came back to a noticeably, smellier room. Sort of a freesia, sherbet, talc mix.

I've been holidaying in "less than salubrious circumstances" in recent years.🙈🤣🤣

Have you ever wondered why most hotel rooms have a traditional landline phone? Well that's how they send the smells, the switchboard has a selection of fragrances available and they'll simply dial a smell though they think is best suited

I asked at reception once for the liquorice all sorts fragrance to be phoned through while I was at dinner, but they forgot.

I was on a diet and planned to use the scent as a replacement for a pudding, so as you can no doubt imagine I was incredibly disappointed.

I always ask for a toast smell to be sent through instead of a wake up call. Once I think they pushed the button for a bit too long as it smelt burnt.

I prefer new car smell they once organized a posh BMW.

I noticed the traditional landline phone when I got in. It brought joy to my heart because I haven't seen one that worked in donkey's years. I call 0 for Reception and dial 9 for an outside line, from my room.😍

Yes. When I worked in a hotel we used to have air fresheners we used. Unfortunately my workplace didn’t invest in the technology that came through the phone.

I wanted a soft vanilla aroma last time I stayed in a hotel with a smellyphone but it was engaged.

Avoid the Cherry Line (#33). Very fake, like pledge with mouldy crushed dates. I don’t know what they were thinking installing this one in the Savoy.

How long were you at dinner? Maximum profits from renting out rooms by the hour while staying guests are at dinner. Courtesy spray after they are gone.

Far more likely there is an automatic air freshener in the room somewhere. Usually the bathroom in my experience.

The 'Full English' aroma they pipe through in the morning is the 'killer' 😊
