Katseye

Katseye! My daughter is marooned in Manchester with her dad. They were off to see Katseye in Paris tomorrow (tonight actually). Can’t get a flight without it costing a fortune and wouldn’t necessarily get them there in time? Any bright ideas? Also any ways of reselling tickets without being scammed or getting tickets to Amsterdam on Friday?

Sorry I’m not sure if I’m following ….

They bought concert tickets for a Paris show but didn’t buy flights, and now the flights are too expensive?

Dumplinghead · 09/09/2026 01:14

No they bought flights too but the flight was cancelled following the air traffic disruption yesterday. Sat on the runway for over four hours

Ah right! Putting that in your OP would have made much more sense.

OK so if flights are cancelled, could they get the Eurostar in the morning?

Failing that, I would put the tickets for re-sale on official sites like Ticketmaster or Twickets.

She didn't need to. It was obvious that the massive disruptions to flights was the reason they dont have a flight 🙄

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/09/2026 01:27

Eurostar is the only way without flying!

It was not obvious at all. There was no mention of massive disruption to flights in the OP.

Why would she need to point out a massive event thats been all over the news?

Some people can actually add 2 and 2 together.

Dumplinghead · 09/09/2026 01:31

Looked at Eurostar and too expensive and would cut it too fine for the concert. Have to factor in getting to London too. Have tried everything we can think of, just looking for any suggestions we might have missed. Gutted for her, this was her summer holiday with her dad.

Calm down🤣

I haven’t watched the news today, nor do I know anyone who has a flight today.

The OP had already replied to me and explained before you piped up.

Ferry? Could her dad drive over?

If not, I would just check all the resale sites for tickets to another date.

I’ve used Twickets before, they’re legit. And so is TicketMasted re-sale but tickets go fast on there! Such a shame for them!

IlovePond · 09/09/2026 01:47

@Dumplinghead I am sorry to hear this - your daughter must be so upset!

I’m assuming your DH already asked at the airport if they could be put on a flight later today?

If you go to the website where you bought the tickets - there may be a way to sell them back even at such short notice. (Are they via QR code?) If you got them from Ticketmaster, for example, it’s usually possible to sell the tickets, unless there are restrictions on reselling to stop scalpers.

Have you contacted your insurance? It may be possible to at least claim some of the money back due to the flight cancellation.

BTW: I just looked up Eurostar tickets for you, but £600 is a bit much!

Re: Amsterdam tickets - it didn’t look like there were any available but Ticketmaster NL do offer a resale service.

I hope that you can salvage something from this, even if it’s just reselling the tickets.

Dumplinghead · 09/09/2026 02:25

He’s sorted the tickets so don’t know the situation. Currently looking at flights too menorca and on to Paris!

What about driving and getting the eurotunnel.

User478 · 09/09/2026 04:26

The channel tunnel car train is £91 each way per car for tomorrow morning, if they get driving now they could be in Paris by this evening.

Dumplinghead · 09/09/2026 05:52

The concert is at half eight tonight unfortunately. We have looked at all options and it’s just too expensive. It’s shocking that there’s no assistance in situations like this

OP posts:
Pedallleur · 09/09/2026 07:19

It's not up to Ticketmaster or other vendors to assist. They aren't a travel company they sell tickets to the show but they do offer a resale service.Travel/accommodation is the responsibility of the ticket holder. So some form of insurance should be taken out.

Dumplinghead · 09/09/2026 07:35

I actually meant the airlines themselves rather than the ticket agency. Unfortunately, we are unable to resell the tickets as they are in France and that was a risk we took knowingly. However, for flights still to be on sale for the following flights when they knew there was likely to be a cancellation is unfair. For everyone affected. The concert is immaterial - plans are plans. I understand they have made a loss but the price hikes are profiteering.

@Dumplinghead - I hope your daughter wasn’t too upset and gets the opportunity to see Katseye another time.

You may already know this, but someone filmed the whole Paris concert tonight and put it on YouTube. Your daughter may or may not want to watch it, but I thought I would pass on the link just in case:

It’s likely to be taken down soon, though, so if interested I recommend she watch it as soon as possible.

Thank you so much IlovePond! I have sent it to her and her dad so hopefully they will see it this morning. Am so proud of her, she has handled the disappointment with real maturity and gratitude for what we tried to sort out for her

You are very welcome @Dumplinghead and it’s lovely to hear that your daughter has such resilience - I do hope she gets to see Katseye at some point in the future - best wishes x
