Which reels are you watching? What’s your algorithm dishing up?

I’m happy to admit to a bit of daily doom scrolling and my reels on FB at the moment are a (weird) mix of funeral directors (‘As the hearse turns’) and another influencer who runs a crematory in the US, plus scambaiters (‘Scammer payback’) and oh, lots of ads for gel nails, meal prep subscriptions and new sofas.

I quite like the funeral director accounts - I find the whole funeral service industry fascinating but no idea why I’m getting meal prep services when I repeatedly click ‘not my interests’. What’s your algorithm dishing up??

stoppedinmytrax you're getting the meal prep service because they think you're old. Usually they associate people looking at funnerals are planning their own, and that us usually the older demagraphic.

ETA: I have instagram and it's a pets charity, Postiive News Magazine and stuff like that.

Funeral services is probably more likely because I Google searched info about cremations and rigor mortis (long story!) but I agree that FB probably thinks I’m old and planning my own funeral.

I'm bumping this, I know I didn't start it, but I want to know what other people's algorithms give them.

It's actually rather interesting.
