18 month old still having morning nap

My boy is 18 months now and still has a morning nap. Between 9:45 and 10ish. He wakes between 6:30 - 7. Always sleeps through. He is evidently tired by this time and falls straight to sleep for this nap and if we are in the car around 9:30 after dropping my eldest off he will fall asleep in the car. Afternoon nap is hit and miss, sometimes he will have a short one it depends on what we’re doing tbh. If he does have an afternoon nap it will take him a bit longer to fall asleep (bed time is 7), but if he doesn’t it’s a long time to go from his morning nap until bed time. My eldest was on just one nap around 12ish I believe and most babies this age appear to be the same and only have 1 mid day nap. I would really like to transition my youngest to do this but I have no idea how to, I don’t want to keep him up struggling if he’s tired but the long morning nap isn’t ideal with it being so long before bed time etc. Any advice? Anyone else had a similar situation and how did you transition? Wondering if anyone’s toddler just kept to a morning nap, and if it’s ok to go 7ish hours from morning nap to bed time?

Do you wake him up from his morning nap? If not, wake him after ten minutes and he might be tired enough by lunch to have a nap then.

In the 7ish hours between the morning nap and going to bed, is he ok? Or does he lose it? if he’s happy in this timeframe, I’d leave things. He wakes up at a lovely time, and sleeps through! You’re winning!

I don’t usually wake him from his morning nap unless it’s the weekend and we are waiting to go out somewhere, as I don’t want to keep my eldest waiting around forever.

In the 7 hours between morning nap and bedtime he doesn’t really lose it, but he may get a little grumpy and you can tell he’s tired. I work 3 days and 2 of those days his grandparents look after him, on our way home after I’ve collected him, around 5:30- 6 he will often fall asleep in the car (takes 10-15 mins to get home), which can then disrupt bedtime a little, although he won’t cry when you put him down he’s simply just awake longer than he usually would be.
