I've never met...

a horrible Tom.

A serious Dave.

An unkind Emma.

I'm in my 50s but that's my experience thus far.

In my personal experience, never trust a David.

Butteredtoast55 · 08/09/2026 14:53

I've only known...
Determined and focused Donnas
Old-fashioned, traditional Steves
Easily distracted but fun Phoebes
Kind and intelligent Tims
Lovely, friendly Alistairs
Sporty Andreas and Andrews
Insecure Rebeccas and variants thereof
Bohemian and free-spirited Isabellas and variants thereof

myavocadoisgrowing · 08/09/2026 15:07

Only met nasty Julies
only met nice Chris’s - of both sexes
only met nice Kevins

PrizePillock · 08/09/2026 16:54

Kind and intelligent Tims

DH and I know 4 Tims between us and 3 of them are accountants, the other is a teacher and all of them are as you described 🙂

I’m so happy to hear about the intelligent Tims! I love the name Timothy & feel Tim nice but dim has a lot to answer for.

BillieWiper · 08/09/2026 17:05

Ooh I had a frenemy called Emma. She was weird in that she approached me to be friends and once we were she'd slag me off to my face when drunk?! Also knew a couple others who were a bit annoying. It's weird how we remember names of people who were unpleasant and it clouds the name so strongly!

PrizePillock · 08/09/2026 17:21

Matthews/Matts are steady, reliable and unflappable, the kind of person you'd want with you at the event of a zombie Apocalypse.

Every Caroline I've come across are two faced.

Sues and Susans are a mixed bag.

Jans are a nightmare!

Maries are lovely.

I have never met a nice Kirsty.

crashbangwottapicture · 08/09/2026 17:36

I’ve never met an unpleasant Peter, Joshua, Katie, or Rose/Rosie!

Puffinsandcoffee · 08/09/2026 17:37

Hahaha I love this. On yours @PrizePillock I'm sorry to say, I've met a Tom I loathe. Horrible, horrible man. And I know one lovely but very serious Dave. But Emma - I can only think of one and yeah, she was very kind, and lots of fun, always cheerful.

I've never liked a Lynne, or a Barbara. The Andrews I know are nice enough, but confident far in excess of their abilities (social in once case, intellectual in another). All the Marys are good people and good fun.

crashbangwottapicture · 08/09/2026 17:37

Oh and every Chloë I’ve met has been lovely!

FakeSnow · 08/09/2026 18:08

Funny I call Chloe a mean girls name. All the ones I’ve come across have been unpleasant.

smallglassbottle · 08/09/2026 18:42

Jackies, Sharons and Julies were always bullies.

AFPotts · 08/09/2026 18:48

All my Lucys have been lovely

BeMoreDolly · 08/09/2026 18:55

Sarahs are steady, kind, and helpful.
Lewis is always a 'spirited' child.
Lauras make excellent friends.

Zebracat · 08/09/2026 18:55

Daniels are dishonest. Amy’s are self centred. Beverley’s are bullies. The Emily’s I know are competent and kind, I’m inclined to like David’s, although I do know one who isnt nice. Chris is fine but Christopher’s are up themselves.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 08/09/2026 18:57

For a long time, all Nicks were nasty, but I’ve met and worked with a couple of good ones.

Nigels are always pretty lovely.

I wonder if there’s a difference between Aimees and Amys?

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 08/09/2026 19:00

I've known lots of awful Emmas, but that's probably only because every third girl (not even really an exaggeration) was called Emma in my secondary school.

Nicks are vain.

Sebastians are pompous twerps.

Natalies are bossy!

Rubys are all madams.

Sams (M and F) are your friends.

A friend's ex is called Tom and he is vile, petty criminal who scammed her out of £2000.

One of my school bullies was called Emma.

I've met numerous serious Daves at work!

ETA I am a couple of years older than you, OP!
