It might on the Northern Line but eventually we all go to Mornington Crescent!

Quickly setting up the new thread before we run out on the previous!

Welcome @DurhamDime and what a sophisticated first play! I can see you’re no novice!

High Street Kensington.

But you all knew I was going to play that didn’t you!!

Predictable but necessary, TragicMuse. Predictable but necessary.

Angel, for all the obvious reasons.

AlwaysExtraHot · 14/09/2026 15:31

In fact rather than HSK, I was half-expecting Muse to play a Fotheringay. Or is that not recommended now? There's a dim memory surfacing of an addendum at the Welwyn meeting last spring…

Pinner (speaking of that Welwyn meeting).

Vaguelyclassical · 14/09/2026 16:23

I thought we had agreed not to speak about the Welwyn meeting? Or at least not about the tragic confusion relating to the Contessa and the smoked salmon sandwiches. But if we must . . . . a bar sinister to Perivale.

AlwaysExtraHot · 14/09/2026 16:36

I didn't mention the smoked salmon!
To Bond Street, perpendicular.

LlynTegid · 14/09/2026 17:12

South to Waterloo

AlwaysExtraHot · 15/09/2026 07:46

Ah.
I was hoping to collect a Marshall Point by taking the Central next, but I'll have to shelve that.
Instead, Victoria (following Zhang and Watson 1988).

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/09/2026 08:14

Nicely done!

Tottenham Court Road

AlwaysExtraHot · 16/09/2026 08:58

Oh, very elegant, Maud. I take it you have listened to the adjutant's masterclass on Hexingtons?
Slightly risky, but I fancy a double piked blackout to take us to Ealing Common.

LlynTegid · 17/09/2026 22:25

Stations around Ealing seem to cause great difficulties for some. A swift move to Osterley hoping it won't do so.

TragicMuse · 18/09/2026 09:08

I’m not well acquainted with Ealing but it has often carried a reputation for being a tricky play in the Game of Games.

Bond Street, the Elizabeth Line entrance.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 18/09/2026 10:32

Anything connected to the adjutant is risky, in my very long experience, AlwaysExtraHot, but I shall say no more. For now, I will eschew a Hexington in favour of a lateral shunt to

Turnham Green.

AlwaysExtraHot · 18/09/2026 10:51

I do know what you mean, Maud (I was at Frinton in 2023…) but have to say the advice on Turnings has always served me well.
Having said that, I'm going for a very different strategy now as I think we're running a moderate risk of early bifurcation.
Ladbroke Grove

DurhamDime · 21/09/2026 07:41

As the sun rises over a dewy St James’s Park. I’m reminded of a certain autumn morning in 2013.

Taking the previous bifurcation into account, I feel quite confident with a sneaky zip (see what I did there?) to Wapping.

AlwaysExtraHot · 21/09/2026 11:33

Lovely, Dime! I enjoyed the nod to Fairbanks' First Principle there.

Less elevated, but one hopes effective: A pintzo mayor to Harlesden

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/09/2026 21:05

Hmm. Not many options left for me now, so I’ll risk a harbinger to

Queens Road Peckham

AlwaysExtraHot · 22/09/2026 08:43

Oh gosh, I didn't see that coming!
I was hoping to get rid of my clocking penalty, but that will have to wait.
A safe, if dull, Al Aquiba instead, to take us to Mudchute.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/09/2026 11:59

I still have a few tricks up my sleeve, AlwaysExtraHot. Put differently, there’s life in the old girl yet!

Tower Hill

AlwaysExtraHot · 22/09/2026 13:56

I've never doubted it, Maud!

This is cheeky, but I cannot resist: Bank

LlynTegid · 22/09/2026 21:00

Eastwards to Chigwell.

AlwaysExtraHot · 23/09/2026 10:30

Oooh, tricky.
If I'm reading Quigley right (1997), I can make a double-looped aside and go to Lancaster Gate

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/09/2026 16:17

Oh. I thought that was only permissible after a double loop on the Piccadilly line, which we haven’t had yet, but I don’t have the Consolidated Rules and Protocols (2025 revision) to hand, so I may be mis-remembering. Anyway, I think I still have scope for a downward swing to

Stockwell

AlwaysExtraHot · 23/09/2026 16:21

The CRP cites Mapplewell's Edict on that subject. A bit long to go into in detail here, but suffice it to say that, as long as clockwise on the Circle isn't high at the point of play, the Piccadilly matter can be regarded as optional.

Barking

DuckonaBike · 23/09/2026 19:47

Optional, eh? Well if you say so Always.

Mile End

I would appreciate it if we didn’t discuss Bridport. I’m sure you understand.

AlwaysExtraHot · 24/09/2026 10:32

Just as I do not talk about Grange-Over-Sands in 2018.
Sloane Square (centrifugal, obviously)
