It’s my birthday coming up soon and I want a bottle of champagne to treat myself. I love veuve cliquot but it’s so expensive now. is appreciate any similar taste/style champagne recommendations but for lower cost please.

This is cremant rather than champagne but delicious and vg value.

I love cremant, a very good substitute but you might still want champagne for a treat

The Waitrose black label is really lovely.
The Lidl cremant is fab. The more expensive Aldi champagne is good too.

Lidl cremant is tasty and affordable, most supermarkets do own brand champagne, look at current blind taste tests for current best buys

Nyetimber Classic Cuvee is delicious, I prefer it to Veuve Cliquot. However if it absolutely has to be champagne, the Aldi one wins all sorts of awards.
