I've bought a Ninja bean to cup machine and I am super excited about it!

What coffee beans do you recommend please?

I’ve tried a few different good ones but keep coming back to the Colombian coffee beans from Lidl! They taste great and less that £3 a bag.

Lavazza beans are very good, especially super crema beans or crema e aroma. Amazon sell kilo bags. Enjoy your new coffee machine 😊

how long is a piece of string? what sort of coffee do you like eg latte, espresso? Do you want dark or light roast?. Everyone will tell you something different. My opinion is to source a local roasters and try/buy from them. I've used the same place for 30 years. But for espresso we use Kimbo aroma gold. Monmouth produce good coffee. Ideally you want freshly roasted beans. Airtight containers to keep them in. You don't want the beans sat in the hopper for days. have a look on YouTube at what people are doing and how they are grinding.

I like pact for convenience. Once a month a bag rocks up at my house and I rate it to keep getting the stuff I like. It's not the best but it's very good, easy, and not too expensive.

If you're less lazy the roastworks guatemala beans are good or you could go mad with locally roasted niche bean places.

Lavazza crema e gusto. For my tastebuds it’s the best for the money. The other roasts are not quite as good. The Lavazza Qualita Oro
is my second best but lacks the punch of crema e gusto. The black espresso roast is weak and the Qualita Rossa is ok. Illy is overpriced and weak. Whittard’s do some lovely ones but are very expensive

I don't know, I'm a total beginner. I've only ever drunk Nescafe instant at home and lots of Starbucks lattes and iced drinks! Thank you

I love YawnBrew who do many different types of beans from different places.

You can also get a monthly subscription to them and they send you 2 little packs of sample beans. I found this really good for trying different kinds and you can compare the two flavours and find out what you like.

My favourite is their Coffee Honey beans.

That's great, you can start with whatever you like and get more obsessive with time! Before you know it you'll be weighing beans and wondering what you've become.

If you’ve only just transitioned from Nescafe instant then the worst beans in the world will taste great, everyone’s taste is different so my advice would be to just buy lots of different ones based on your strength preference until you find the one you like, i personally like the Lavazza range but Lidl also sell one called Barista Crema which is actually quite nice and it’s under a tenner.

Colombian Fairtrade beans are the most consistently good. Aldi Lidl m&s all lovely

And what you need now is a milk frother gadget and you have cappuccino and latte at home! It’s brilliant

TrueStart coffee do beautiful coffee beans. Different caffeine strengths. Lab tested for moulds and quality. The smooth Colombian is my favourite, it is absolutely stunning. But I do also love the half caff:

You can pay a LOT for coffee beans but if you’re a beginner, I can recommend trying Waitrose own label beans, they are good quality and a reasonable price. We like their Kenya AA beans for rounded flavour and either Monsooned Malabar or Sumatra Mandehling for strength. We mix both kinds in each brew. They also do Colombian beans which are mid strength. (Plus others which we haven’t tried.)
I think they are currently around £4.50 for a 227 gram pack - you can pay twice that elsewhere especially for specialist brands like Pact.

I really like the Brazilian beans from this roaster, local to me.

Our favourite is the Waitrose fair trade Italian style beans, so many people ask what we’ve used and the Italian version is often empty on the shelf which tells me it’s popular!

My BIL got some really good, single estate Brazilian coffee beans from the Monmouth Coffee Company. Sadly the do not ship to the country, where I live.
Second Lavazza Crema & Aroma for daily use, but indulge in Jamaican Blue Mountain around my birthday and Christmas, which I can buy locally from a long-established, family-run coffee roasters in my local city.
Although coffee is like wine, a matter of personal taste, so have fun getting small amounts of beans and trying them. Chat to independant coffee roasters as well, for tips.

We’ve also just bought a Ninja beans to cup and I don’t know why, but they do recommend using freshly roasted beans rather than generic supermarket beans.

I’d suggest Cworks coffee beans too. They recommend beans suitable for the Ninja coffee machine and have good videos on YouTube explaining how to use the machine which I found useful. it certainly helped us to get the hang of using all the features.

Thanks everyone! @Petitchouchou and @Spaceman101 I ordered from cworks, got the top 4 bundle. I spent ages watching his videos this morning so now I feel ready and raring to go!

I also popped into town this morning and the local delicatessen had locally roasted fresh beans so I got two different bags to try too, it would be good to shop local, I'll compare with the cworks ones.

@HappyNooYear it has a milk frother built in! I also bought hot chocolate flakes from the same shop this morning!

From supermarkets, I love the Leon beans (both kind are good).
