I've been thinking about the hard time our young people have these days with everything being filmed and photographed and talked about on group chats and so forth, and was feeling nostalgic for the time I grew up in.
But rather than shrug and let them worry I'm now trying to think of ways to help my DC feel less anxious about all these things that just seem part of life nowadays. So far I have: focus on real life, in-person friendships/relationships, and keep in mind you and your cohort are all in the same boat! And hide from the camera if you want... but if you're in the frame, smile and relax.
Call me if you need an excuse to get away from a situation you don't like, and I will oblige - my DC once said I had banned her from an app to stop friends pressing her to sign up. I duly banned her from it immediately! Wouldn't want her having to lie to her friends...
Any other tips?
