Calling builders! Cheaper alternatives to cat-proof fence brackets for brick garden walls?

For fencing in cats.

Each bracket is almost £30 so was thinking there might be something that exists in screwfix or a builders yard that could serve the same purpose cheaper?

We have 8ft brick walls all round.

Have a very handy DH so could drill holes etc.

Plenty on ebay/amazon for about £8-10 each. Even B&Q online sell a pack of 10 for less than £80

If you've got access to a bench with a vice, or possibly a workmate, you could but some steel strip and bend it yourself. Something like https://www.screwfix.com/p/rothley-galvanised-steel-flat-bar-1m-x-24mm-x-1mm/302JP#product_additional_details_container Prepunched so you don't need to drill holes, galvanised so it won't rust - but would probably look better if you sprayed it black/dark green. For £2.94 it's worth buying a length to see if it will do the job.
