When I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday, a post came up about the horrific murder of a stray dog in China called Wang Wang and her puppies by 4 young boys. It's one of the worst cases of animal cruelty I've read about and I can't stop thinking about it. Please don't read about it if you're not aware of the story, as it's deeply distressing, but if you are aware, how did you deal with it? I feel so traumatised and can't shake it off. I know that people all over the world are quite rightly outraged and have been speaking out in protest. Some had hoped that this might be the catalyst for finally introducing animal.welfare laws in China but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. With no animal welfare laws, animal cruelty, no matter how abhorrent can't be punished. What will it take for China to take animal welfare seriously?
