Primrose is absolutely huge so you may want to consider whether you would be comfortable letting DC explore the site themselves as its easy to get lost. Also, depends on the location of the caravan, you could be pretty far away from the entertainment and swimming.

Blue dolphin is much easier to navigate but is a little run down.

In that area I would reccomend Reighton sands. The site is the perfect size in my opinion and you can walk directly down to the beach.

Does it have to be Haven? There is also Flower of May and Crows Nest Park too. They might not have what you want in terms of entertainment though

Primrose Valley definitely.

It doesn"t have to be Haven but I would like a decent pool.

Not ever Haven, They have a reputation for dirty vans, look on Facebook.

The parkdean in Cayton Bay is nicer and has the same facilities

Primrose pool is brilliant (and huge) blue dolphin pool is a little small.
Primrose can be very very busy however, so along as you are OK with that I would say there.
However, there is alpamere in scarborough which is amazing for an afternoon, loads of flumes and brilliant pools

I think this is unfair. People will always complain loudly when something is bad. We go to different Havens every single year for the past 10 years or so (Ds now aged 14 has autism and loves them) and never ever had any issues, and we’re very fussy- I’d immediately complain if they were unclean. Having said that we never stay in the bottom range, always a top or mid range van and they’re always lovely.

We have been to Haven loads and never had an issue , and have often stayed in the Saver vans.

No direct access to the beach from Blue Dolphin as it’s on the cliffs.

TheMentalMentalLoad · 07/09/2026 19:09

Primrose Valley easy. I’m a self confessed snob too.

Cayton Bay Park Dean is lovely OP!

You used to be able to use Primrose Valley facilities we used to go to blue Dolphin which we preferred but if the kids wanted to have a change of scenery we went to PV and used the pool there, we have also been to Clayton bay which i liked it wasn't so loud.

CherryKerry · 07/09/2026 19:15

I stayed at Blue Dolphin last year, didn't use any facilities though as no kids with us. On my way home I realised I had left some expensive headphones on the bed. Phoned them straight away and basically got the run around for 3 days with several promises of call backs etc that never happened and my headphones were never returned so based on that, I wouldn't go back to a Haven site.
