Just that, basically! I have been playing a game where you have to watch an add to get extra bits - and lately all of the adds were these "novels" about some girl (very often a werewolf but not necessarily) being mistreated and them clearly on a path to get a revenge. I have read a few out of boredom and they all end on the cliff-hanger and then require you to pay to continue reading. I got interested to see how much - and its sooo expensive! Like, $20 a chapter or something, or annual subscription where you pay something like $180.
I was wondering - who writes this tosh? Why there are so many apps (they all have different names) but its pretty much the same story designed to get you outraged and yearning to see the character getting her revenge (its always "her"). They are often weirdly spaces out, like one sentence per line and sometimes all words are capitalised (AI)?
Do people actually pay for these? Weirdly, they all have very positive reviews in the app shop but a few says they paid hundreds but still have not finished reading the story!
Just been thinking about these idly. Curious if anyone knows wtf is this and is there some sort of following/ demand for these kind of trashy non-stories.
