What is the best (budget ideally) vacuum cleaner for getting hair up out of the carpet?

Just that. I hoovered twice today before cleaning the carpet, and my Vax kept leaving trails of hair behind anyway. Not really surprising, it just gets caught up in my Shark's rollers rather than sucking it away. I bought a Shark after my previous Dyson because I thought it was supposed to better for hair/fur (I had dogs when I got it and it was actually really good for dog fur - human hair, not so much).
I am pretty skint, but if I have to I will try find the cash for something if it actually works.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried changing the filters of your current one?

otherwise my suggestion is a particular shark that’s not budget at all so I’d be useless !

A rubber broom will do a much better job than a vacuum cleaner for hair or fur.

You'll end up with long 'snakes' of hair that will hoover up easily.

You need to get a carpet comb the amount of hair and embedded yuck they get up is disgustingly satisfying £4.99 on amazon.
my shark is decent at sooking hair up but the carpet comb still pulls up even more, the stuff that’s more worked into the carpet fiber, even directly after hoovering

No I haven't - do you think that would make a difference?

Thank you! There are lots of options on Amazon - is there one you would recommend?

I think they are all pretty similar and so satisfying

I have a Henry (pet version) but I always use a rubber broom first. Bought mine on Amazon for a tenner. It’s very satisfying seeing all the hair come together in clumps which can then be suckered up.

@JustHereForTheShitsAndGigglesthe one I have is a wooden handle with y shaped metal part and a coiled wire along the top. It was £4.99. It fairly works up a sweat brushing the carpet but the amount of hair is pulls out is so satisfying. I probably only use once a month or if I’m going to shampoo the carpets
