Who did this?

Can anyone remember the comedian (s) who did an Otis Reading puppet type thing that sang sitting on the dock of a bay? I’m sure the “Otis”
was a Geordie. I’ve googled it and can’t find anything !

Yes — you’re remembering Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.
It was in The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer (BBC, 1993). They played Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye as tiny puppet-like “agony aunts,” sitting in/on a cupboard and watching the ships come in and go out while singing/echoing “(Sittin’ On) the Dock of the Bay.”
And your memory of the accent is basically right, although sources describe it more specifically as Teesside rather than Geordie.

Edited because wasn’t necessary!

Thank you. You’re all better googlers than me. I knew it was vic and bob but nothing came up when I googled
