Fluoextine and ibuprofen / ibuprofen lysine

read that you shouldn’t take ibuprofen if you’re on fluoextine? I have a terrible headaches that’s not going away, one sided and I think maybe migraine or cluster. I get them every now and then.

paracetamol does nothing, ibuprofen usually takes the edge off slightly. I’ve started taking fluoextine in the last couple months. Anyone know whether it’ll be ok to take ibuprofen or ibuprofen lysine?

I plan to go to pharmacy when it opens but am in a lot of discomfort and have been all night

I’ve never heard of this and take ibuprofen whenever necessary and I’m on fluoxetine. Paracetamol also does absolutely nothing for me. If you need to take the ibuprofen this one time, please go ahead and do it. The warning is likely for people who are taking ibuprofen daily for pain management. Feel better 💐

If you think you are getting migraines or cluster headaches, see a doctor and get a prescription for a triptan instead of taking bog standard painkillers that aren't actually doing much. There are other treatments for cluster headaches if that's what you are having. I've been having migraines all my adult life and never found ibuprofen did anything apart from make me feel slightly nauseous. Paracetamol was better for me. Everyone is different.
