What does Amazon know?

Amazon has just told me it thinks I might like a new dishwasher. What does it know that I don't? I've never even looked for anything vaguely dishwasher-related on there. Anyone else get any bizarre suggestions?

They know everything

Maybe! I put the dishwasher on this morning before I left for work, but I only thought to do it and didn't communicate the thought to anyone...is Alexa reading my mind?

Alexa has told your dishwasher to self destruct.

She can be a right madam, usually confined to ignoring requests.

How has Amazon told you this, I don't understand?

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 03/09/2026 15:03

I got a notification on my phone from Amazon saying it thinks I might like a new dishwasher.

Oh I know op it's awful isn't it. My husband has been eating a lot of beans recently (for protein and fibre) and shouted out yesterday evening about flatulating in the bath (I apologise for his vulgarity, I hate him). Less then 2 minutes later I had a 'looks like you have a new jacuzzi ' notification from Amazon. I'm just about fed up with with their intrusive snooping

Yeah, pull the other one...
