Has anyone tried a Japanese manicure for weak, splitting nails?

Anyone had a Japanese manicure and can tell me what it's like?

My nails are getting really bad and I don't usually do gel polish or fake nails, but thoughts this might be an answer to try and get my nails to grow and not keep splitting

I cant answer your question about the Japanese manicure OP. But I've had horrible splitting nails for as long as I can remember. However a couple of months ago I started taking a collagen supplement - mainly because I have a very limited almost meat free diet and I hoped the collagen would help with my skin, particularly on my arms, which were starting to look crepey.

The improvement in my nails has been amazing They are much stronger, have grown longer than I've ever had in my life, and they aren't splitting.
I have no proof it's the collagen but it's the only change I can think of that could be responsible and apparently there is Scientific studies that back this up.

@PurplebudsWhitebuds same as you. Really weak and splitting nails for years. Now take a collagen supplement and my nails are SO strong and never split. It has to be the collagen.

thanks for the tip on collegen, I shall see what I can get, how long was it until you noticed a difference?

I keep my nails short and neat, ive ordered a DIY kit from amazon for now, as saw a YouTube and it should last a couple of years - so will give that a go and see how both the supplements go and the kit

@ArtieChoke
I buy Alpha Zero One multi collagen capsules from Revive Naturals on Amazon subscription, it's been 9 months now. It was quite quick seeing a difference with my nails maybe 6-8 weeks. I keep going with the collagen as I want to see if it helps longterm with other things.

It’s not a one off thing. It’s a weekly process where you buff your nails and apply oils. My mum is doing it. She’s convinced it’s improving her nails.

Please make sure you research the collagen supplements which are flooding my SM feed(s) at present. The best ones (I think) are combined marine & bovine, so review several because they are expensive and seem to take 3 months to be helpful.

I take collagen capsules (I wouldn’t drink the soluble ones) they have really helped ly
naols and hair - hopefully also helping my skin and joints too!

Ive looked and can get a kit, I think that might be the way to go as it s weekly thing to improve the nails> watched a YouTube and it looked a fairly simple process
