Anyone with a black shower, are you happy with it?

Thinking of getting a black shower, and checked black screen similar to the attached.

Are you happy with yours, do they discolour at all. Any limescale on it?

White limescale all over it. Don't do it, but especially if you live in the south east!

I used to have a black shower and it was awful. As the previous poster says...white limescale all over it!

Yep don’t do it!

So regretting it and wish we went with brass or chrome.

And the matte black radiator too! HORRENDOUS dust magnet of a thing.

Not shower but @ know someone who had black tiles in the bathroom and they showed every bit of limescale and every smear.

We have had one for about six weeks so early days but so far no problems. We are in Yorkshire though so maybe the water is different?

We have one, no problems with it but we live in the highlands so no limescale issues.

I had a black kitchen sink and regretted it. So much work just to keep it looking nice and it so quickly showed limescale

I did a double turn at your picture as apart from the shower (I have a bath/shower) it’s the same sink unit as mine, floor, towel rail and I have black. I have zero regrets and no issues, however….

We live in Yorkshire and we have very soft water, never have limescale, never descaled a kettle in my life, don’t need water filters etc.

And I bought all Hans Groher taps, shower, shower head etc. which are not cheap but the quality and finish is excellent.

mine just need a quick wipe with a towel to dry off water marks.

I have a black granite kitchen sink and a black sink in the bathroom, they look amazing once you’ve just cleaned it but as soon as they’ve been used the water marks ruin it. Constant wiping and drying!! Do not recommend

About ten years ago I had a black kitchen sink and I still talk about how awful it was.

I think it will also look very dated quickly

Me too (in fact it already does, sorry), plus dust/limescale as others have said.

If you go for black you will have to squeegee after every use and clean thoroughly twice a week.
Would your family be on board with this?

We have black tiles and yes this is true. We have very hard water and a water softener and it barely works.

I have black quartz worktops in my kitchen in a hardwater area and there are limescale marks all around the sink. I wish I had gone for white quartz.

It totally depends on the water and environment (I'm not in the UK). I often stay somewhere with hard water that has black (including the sink) and lots of wood/static electricity and agree totally with the dust/limescale comments when I think of that bathroom...Yet I also have a black rail and screen in large city apartment bathroom that is only used by two adults and it's the lowest maintenance bathroom I've ever had. Always looks clean and classic (need to think carefully about tiling and furniture to keep it classic). Get a black tile sample, get it wet, leave it and see what happens.
