Hi, is anyone else experiencing severe back pain after having a cesarean 2 and 1/2 years later or longer, but no doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, MRI scans can see the problem of determine any real damage? Does this pain get better within years or will this be something I will have to cope with for life ?😭

I have had 2 sections, and recently started having terrible back pain. It's in the mid to upper half of my back, is that where yours is? I havent had any investigation done. It's sometimes so bad I cant focus on anything else.

What makes you think it's related to the c-section?

A doctor told me scans don't always show problems, and that most people, unless they're young, would actually have some things show up on a scan that don't cause them pain, so he says he rarely recommends a scan, but said to do physio.
With CS, I don't know if it's nerve related, but it seems to be fairly common, and I found my stomach pulled forward after, so maybe it's bad posture. I'm waiting for physio so I will say what they say.

I had similar and tried everything. I then saw a barrel trained osteopath which solved all related issues in that area.

If you've had a c section, you've clearly also had a pregnancy which is much more closely linked to back problems, why have you jumped straight to the c section being the cause? You've even pulled another poster into linking theirs with pain 2.5years later, when they are probably lifting up a toddler regularly.

Go and see a doctor or physio with an open mind as to what has caused it, it could be pregnancy, the way you wore your sling, always balancing baby on the same hip....etc.

I suffered with back pain, sometimes severe, before my c-section. Had back pain after it too, I’m not sure why a c-section would be suspected as the cause?

Getting a stronger core has honestly got rid of the back pain - weights in my case or my physio swore by Pilates. I know how upsetting and disabling severe back pain is but please don’t think you’re stuck with it for life. What has your physio suggested?
