Are rechargeable vibrators supposed to get very warm while charging?

Erm... Are rechargeable vibrators meant to get very warm as they charge?

My old battery powered joy-bringer died the other day (RIP) and I bought a replacement. This is a rechargeable one. It came yesterday (so to speak) and I charge it overnight. It's just got a USB-C charging cable like my phone, with one end in the thing itself and one in a USB plug. Standard.
This morning when I came to use it, it was really very warm. Like, hot water bottle warm, I would say. When I unplugged it, it began to cool down.

Is this a thing? Or is it a fire hazard that I shouldn't ever charge up again?? It doesn't have any special warming features. My phone sometimes gets a bit warm when it's charging, but not this warm. I am now concerned that the firemen will emerge from the charred wreckage of my house clutching the remnants of something pink and phallic and go 'I think we have found the culprit!' which honestly would be worse than my house burning down to begin with.

It had no charge at all when I opened it, and it was bedtime so I just charge it overnight. If that's what caused overheating then it's a design flaw cos I charge several things overnight and it doesn't happen to them.

Eek. I charge my phone overnight every night, and my toothbrush once a week or so. And my Kindle every so often. And one or two other things. Eek.

Imagine explaining that to your insurers op.

I would emigrated to Argentina. It would be the only way.

Phones shouldn’t be left to charge overnight, it’s not good for the battery. Same with most things.

Unless you are using a smart auto stop charger @Craniumlady charging anything overnight is a fire risk. Especially a new device that you haven't checked works after 15 - 30 mins charge.

Instructions usually tell you how long a device needs to charge, it is never 8 hours.

Perhaps invest in a portable battery pack, with auto stop, and charge on a heat mat (like the travel ones for straighteners) to be safe and not need to emigrate 😂

Are you sure it's not a feature op? They have all sorts of bells and whistles these days. An old neighbour of ours had one that spoke to her in a deep male voice but when the battery was low she said it sounded like Joe Pasquale. Please go careful

Definitely not a setting. Apart from the fact that I don't want singed bits, it's about the cheapest one money can buy. No bells or whistles.
