What to expect from counselling for family stress and shame

I feel like I could benefit from some counselling to hopefully help me through some issues.

The issues I face is estrangement from one sibling,
I feel like I am being bullied from her to fix her feelings and emotions. I feel like there is some coeircoin control from her. She wants me to fix the relationship but she wants 100% of the fixing from me while she throws insults back at me. I have a boundary now in place that I really don't have time for her and her drama in my life but she won't respect that.

So that is one thing I need help with.

I am dealing with an aging parent and I am finding that difficult too. The aging parent I have can be so much like a toddler at times and can be very difficult to be around.

I did something bad last year and I am dealing with feelings of shame.

I am having weekly migraines with the intensity of stress in my life.

I was browsing around online for counselling in my local city. I see online the images of offices, they look like there is armchairs facing each other.

I never went to counselling before. Is all counselling offices like that. I don't know how I feel about that.

Also I am nervous about making the appointment and going to a first appointment but I do think I need it.

I’ve only had positive counselling experiences but you make sure you have chemistry and a rapport and that you feel safe - especially where there’s an element of bullying - There is no commitment beyond that so you can take things at your own pace.

its exhausting especially the first session so take it easy rest of
the day. I felt better each time, so much better. After about six sessions I was ready to seize the day and suddenly realised that I had resolved everything with her. Felt so much better x
