I've posted here for traffic but if it's not the right place on MN please let me know and I will report and get it moved. I have name changed because I am a regular poster and want to keep this separate.
I was SA as a child and it's only really come to the fore in my 50s, I think I always knew but it wasn't until a year ago it kind of clicked into place and I realised what happened to me as a child. Now I keep getting flashbacks and more stuff falling into place.
It's causing problems for me in my life because I am hyper vigilant and have low self esteem, people pleaser, massively insecure and struggling to feel safe. The Epstein stuff and just the state of the world right now isn't helping.
I have OCD intrusive thoughts and my mind can spiral. I've become a clingy mess in my relationship and my anxiety is through the roof.
I've tried a couple of therapists but they weren't much use and I have a new therapist and my first session is later today.
I just want to get past all this and be 'normal' and live a normal life. I don't want what happened to me as a child to define me or even be a second thought any more.
My question is if you are a victim of CSA and you've had therapy did you get to the other side? Would you say you live a normal life?
Can anyone recommend any techniques or anything to help me move past this?
