Bloody hell! Have you seen the price of nespresso machines lately?

Our nespresso machine died this morning. We all drink a lot of coffee so needed to get a new one ASAP.
The closest shops to me are john lewis and currys
Bloody hell, they've gone up in price!
£259!! Its a basic one I'm sure we had a few years ago for about £50!
I'm in shock!
There were cheaper ones with the new pods but I need normal nespresso pod one.
Let's hope this one lasts longer than a year!😥

Too late now, but it was needed ASAP as Autistic teen will only drink exceptionally milky coffee. So if we dont have a machine they won't drink anything else! Arghh.....

You can still get the Krupps Inissia and Pixie machines on Amazon for under 125 quid, give or take. I have found the Inissia to last longest out of the Nespresso machines I've tried, as it's got the fewest bells and whistles and bits that can break! As long as you keep it descaled.

Last week, I spotted a proper espresso from beans coffee machine (delonghi) for that price in Lidl in Germany.

I think John Lewis do low price guarantee or some such - you need to show them the cheaper price and claim the difference (if you bought it from there).

We gave up on Nespresso because of their costs and went for a Delonghi, La Specialista Prestigio direct from Delonghi on their Ebay site for refurbed machines at £253, it came as new with a new welcome kit etc. Grinds beans, brews coffee and steams milk etc. We can now make Espresso, Americano, singles, doubles and make the Latte art stuff.

Keep an eye out and contact their Ebay helpdesk as to when they have their next discount offer and hit the deal then. Well worth it IMHO as we can have different types of coffee etc.

It didn't seem that long ago that they were £50 OP. Blimey, you'd have to be Peter Murrell to afford one now.

I bought an unbranded machine that takes 5 different types of pods and simple ground coffee, which compared to pods is about a quarter of the price, less polluting but much messier to use. No complaints about the machine after 6 months.
I had a bean to cup machine (PITA to clean, leaked and wasn’t particularly efficient) but the price of beans has rocketed recently to a level where ground coffee on special offer (I’m not a coffee snob) is better value.
It also avoids giving money to the Nestlé group.

Agree - I don’t think the nespresso pixie price has changed since we got one a couple of years ago.

Cost more for you because you were constrained to one you could pick up in person same day.

There are plenty of cheaper ones around, just not in your nearby John Lewis on the day.

No need to give Nespresso / Nestle any money, we have Krups Nespresso compatible pod machine and use any non Nestle pods.

Here in Aus Nespresso offer machines for free or a small outlay as long as you buy x amount of coffee from them a month on subscription for 2 years. Bought all our machines like that
So I got a free Citiz and I pay $80 into a subscription and get $80 of coffee a month.

Just checked. They offer that in UK search for Machine Olus Subscription.
If you have used the machine you bought try and get the same one on subscription and return the new one.

You could have picked up a basic model for more than £100 less from the official website
