Heat Pump dryers vs Condenser dryers

I am currently choosing a tumble dryer, there are so many options!

If you use one can you tell me about which type you have, are you happy with it and whether it needs to be less than a full load to dry completely?

Im absolutely clueless on it all!

We have a Samsung heat pump dryer, and it works well for us.
Low energy, and is gentle on clothes.
A regular load takes around 2 hrs, maybe 2.5 if towels, or around 1.5 if sports/gym wear.
Copes with a full load just fine.
We have an unplumbed version, so you empty the tank of water (just bigger than a shoebox, it slides out and you empty down the sink/use it to water plants.) I find the emptying very satisfying.
DH is very safety conscious and he felt this had a lower risk of fire!

I have a hot point heat pump. Takes a full load easily, and like previous poster says is kinder to clothes.

I've got a Samsung heat pump dryer. I've had it 2-3 years I think.

It's exactly like a condenser dryer, except there is an extremely annoying little filter at the very bottom of my machine that I have to get on my hands & knees & clean out with a special brush every 10 dries or so. It won't work if it's not cleaned.
This is in addition to the normal lint filter & emptying the drawer of water. If I were elderly or disabled I'd really struggle.

I can't remember why we went for heat pump 🤔 it does a decent job of drying but no different to my old condenser really.

Bosch series 4 heat pump here and love it. A full load of towels takes a couple of hours but I'm never in a hurry for a load. Gym clothes take less than an hour so all good.

Same - very happy with ours. A full load of towels/ sheets never takes as long as it claims either. We both WFH so no real issue with the longer settings and I prefer that it's nicer to our clothes.

Heat pump. Takes a while longer however nothing has shrunk when I've tumbled something by accident I usually wouldn't. Also barley notice a rise in electric bill when winter is here and it's on multiple times a day

If you are planning on putting it in a garage/outhouse or if your house is on the chilly side do not bother with a heat pump! It needs to be in a fairly warm place to function properly. I have my condenser in an outbuilding and it works perfectly.

We have a heat pump. Very cheap to run and gentler on clothes too.
