Inset say tomorrow- don't know if it's casual

I should know and I'm really of a rank which shouldn't need to ask 😆 I imagine no one will reprimand me either way, but which is weirdest, senior member of staff too casual or in business dress when everyone else is casual?

Large secondary school which has quite strict formal dress code for staff, compared to other schools I've been at.

My main issue is that I don't do smart casual very well. I've spent all summer in cut off jeans and a vest, unless properly dressed up for a night out.

Inset days are usually casual. I wouldn’t go bare shoulders but jeans, top and trainers is probably fine.

They are usually casual unless meeting parents/external people

Wear one style, take the other then you can always change.

Usually jeans 👖

Maddy70 · 31/08/2026 16:46

Jeans, trainers and a blouse will be fine.

It's going to be horribly hot in a school hall in jeans tomorrow!

I used to just do work trousers, long sleeved top, brogues and left my blazer hanging up in the car if needed.
Comfortable, smart, but able to move desks should it be needed.

I’d wear jeans/denim shorts or skirt to Inset.

What about other types of casual trousers? Do you have anything cropped and lightweight material?
