Anyone else enjoying Gary Davies on the Radio 2 morning slot?

Yes I'm prime Radio 2 target audience (mid 50s female) but wanted to say how much I've been enjoying listening to Gary Davies in the morning, when he took over after Scott Mills left and now Sara is on holiday. I love Sara Cox and always thought she should have got the breakfast show after Zoe Ball, but thr morning slot seems to really suit Gary. He and Ellie also have great Radio chemistry. I hope he gets recognised and get a prime time show soon (hopefully replacing Jeremy Vine or Paddy McGuinness.) Maybe the tea time show (although OJ Borg also deserves a promotion as well!)
Anyway just wanted to put that out there lol!

I sadly think Sara Cox is struggling on breakfast, she’s trying too hard and they need to recognise that kids in the car is the most annoying thing on the planet.

Gary is good in the morning. But after being a llife long BBC radio listener I’ve left for other stations, and just try to ignore advertising as much as I can.

I really like GD, he has a lovely warm tone of voice and I would be inclined to stick with a bad song if he was the dj which i wouldn’t do for any other morning show host. However I love Greg James on R1. It helps that i like chart music - but Greg is the best DJ on the radio at the moment IMO. I haven’t really given SC a listen; she’s nice but I don’t find myself engaging with her.

Does Gary want the job? I thought he was happy to be the ringer across all shows

Let’s give sara a chance to ease in. She’s probably a bit too upbeat for the morning but she can’t be as annoying as Scott mills

Nope, can't stand him, on any radio show at all! I really miss Sarah Cox in the afternoon/evening so I tend to play her morning show in the evening on BBC Sounds!

Anyone beats Scott Mills ..he was annoying with the cheesiest of songs 😏

Ive given up on it. I now hop between local radio, Virgin and Greatest Hits

Oh, and 4Extra when I just can't put up with the ads any more

Yes, got him on now. I much prefer him to either Sara Cox (who drives me insane and I turn the radio off) or Vernon.
