Restaurant suggestions in London for solo dining?

I’m going to London for work in a couple of weeks from Thursday - Saturday.

I used to live in London and visit quite a lot but have never been alone. I do know it well in terms of areas etc and I’m staying near Algate.

Any restaurant ideas for dining alone?! Somewhere relaxed that I can have a nice glass of wine and read my book?! Probably a big lunch rather than a big dinner.

thanks!

Any restaurant. It's not a thing. Just go where you fancy.

I agree that anywhere would be fine for lunch but personally, if I’m dining alone, I prefer a less formal place. A lot of the good hotels have nice cafes and restaurants and will be used to solo diners.

Otherwise, Ottolenghi has several branches, Berenjak, Kin and Deum (Thai), Farmer J (pick your own field trays), anywhere really!

There are several places that I’ve been to or would like you try. Holy Carrot in Spitalfields is one place that I want to go to: despite the name, it’s not vegan.

And I noticed several places in Wentworth St: I’ve been to the Unity Diner, which is vegan, but there were several interesting looking restaurants around there

There seem to be several places
