Camp America alternatives??

My DD18 is keen to do Camp America (or similar) next year. She isn't well travelled and I must say I do ah e some concerns about her travelling to the US alone.

Can I ask if there are alternatives people would recommend, doesn't need to be the US. Canada maybe? And/or providers please? She is desperate to do something along the lines of it!

Does it have to be abroad? Our LA runs an SEN play scheme in the Summer holidays. They recruit extra play workers, often sixth formers. Some children have a 1 to 1 and those workers are paid extra.
Our eldest DD worked on the scheme whilst in 6 th form and then at Uni in the holidays. It’s good experience for many careers.

Can you explain what the issue is with her travelling to the US for camp America? They are very well looked after and it’s all sorted for them. I did it years ago and my DD will do it next year. You don’t need to be well travelled - I don’t see what difference that will make - whether she goes to Europe or the US you are still only talking difference in miles. The US is super easy and it sounds like it will be good for her (and you tbh!!!)
