I'm Irish and I totally agree. If he was playing a club hurling match in Limerick you wouldn't look twice at him. He doesn't have anything that sets him apart.
I don't think Gabriel Byrne has been mentioned yet. He was lovely looking.

Absolutely this. When I first saw him I said he looks like my friends brothers in the GAA growing up. All of them collectively. He has a 'look' that is so ordinary to me. When we were young in my town we thought anyone with darker skin was gorgeous, regardless of features. Every Spanish student was a ride. We see beauty in what is different and don't see it in our own.
