Has anyone seen the new Spider-Man and is it suitable for 8/9 year old?

has anyone seen the new spider man and can tell me what it would be like for an 8 and 9 year old? I know it’s a 12 but wondering why. Kids are asking to go

DH took the GCs (10 and 7) recently. The 10 year old was well into it and explained a lot of it to DH who is definitely not a Spiderman afficionado, but I think a lot of it went over the 7 year old's head despite them having seen the previous films.

DH didn't mention that there was anything wildly inappropriate.

Have they seen the previous films?
