Good Morning All! What are you up to today?

Good morning from the train to Leeds Fest for the last day! We've had about 4 hours of sleep, after the most badly organised queueing system for the shuttle buses saw us leaving the festival ground at almost 2am, and we were luckily fairly close to the front of the queue.

We don't have many artists we want to see today - dd wants to see Slayter & Maisie Peters on the main stage. After them we'll just wander and see who else we can catch.

Plan is to leave early enough to get a train home after needing an uber last night! Then a brew, and bed. Boy cat will be waiting for me, I'm sure 😊.

Dd2's spending the day sorting her college things and might actually go to town with their dad 🤔.

What about all of you? 🙂

On the train to Hampton Court! Very excited.

I feel a bit more human today, but can't imagine will be doing much.
DS is still alive, just messaged to say he has no house key (which i knew as its on his bedside table)
Luckily it's a bank holiday so we can be in.

elQuintoConyo · 30/08/2026 10:18

Took the dog for a walk round the flea market, now coffee. Might meet a friend for lunch. Got some sewing to do this afternoon: two triangular tote bags, one for me, one for friend.
I've got the house to myself until tomorrow night, so I can eat what and when I want, also fully embracing nudity cos it's still fricking hot! Binging Ride or Die on Prime, and working my way through Henry Cavill's ouvre.

Lovely Sunday vibes to everyone.

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone, the sun’s out at the moment, storms forecast for early afternoon.
So far I have prepared dinner (stuffed courgettes with couscous), fruitlessly searched eBay for a specific embroidery kit(wasted two hours!), eaten croissants with butter and marmalade and I could do with a coffee now.
i slept badly so a dopey day today I think!

Morning All

Been a lazy morning so far. Bacon rolls and cups of tea. DD is still in bed. DS is playing Lego. DH is gearing himself up for a dog walk. He had an unexpected drinking session yesterday and had a great time but suffering a bit.

Today will be usual uniforms sorting, shopping for pack lunches and wee bit of course work. Have a meeting at work tomorrow to check in with it.

House is in a tolerable state and that’s good enough. DH cooking a chicken dish for tea tonight after him and DD are back from football.

Quietish day which is perfect.

Morning all, I’m staying with friends for the bank holiday weekend which has been lovely. Lots of countryside walks, good food, trashy telly and laughter! So far today I’ve been wandering around their garden picking ripe veg for later, then had a coffee in the sun with an Ideal Home magazine. I think we’re off out for lunch in a bit as will mooch around the local shops, before heading back for a cosy night of games.

ShipshapeShore · 30/08/2026 10:53

Unusually for me, I was at the gym just after 9! I seem to have hit the age where you receive the gift of stubborn weight around the middle. Lucky me!

Going to a barbecue later for a family birthday, although it'll probably end up inside.

Currently sunny so I'm outside with my Merlin app. I'm enjoying the breeze, I'm sick of being permanently hot.

Have a great day all.

Good morning all and happy Sunday! I woke up feeling fresh as was designated driver last night so have been out for my long run, just finishing off coffee and marmite crumpets. Managed to avoid getting rained on until the last 5 minutes so I was pleased about that.

We’re heading off to a wine bar to catch up with some friends this afternoon, DP will be driving so my turn to have a glass or two. This evening we’re having a cheese and games night with my in laws, FIL has brought out a 40 year old port so I’m looking forward to supping on that. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone - missed these posts. I have been mad busy, trying to cope with mountains of Vinted parcels. Came away from clothes & somehow fell into buying antique/vintage fine china, glassware & jewellery. Incredible bargains but oh my goodness it’s far too easy to spend A LOT! Also been finding amaxing items in charity shops. Luckily my Dad has a fair bit of space in his bungalow & is out most of every day visiting Mum so I have been able to spread out & catalogue my goodies as I unwrap them. The buying is dying down now & I’m making plans to resell. A local pub has a beautiful room which folks can use for free for community events, groups etc so I’m hoping to organise a pop up shop there. Ai has been incredible & I have so many creative ideas! My friend reckons I might be better doing an established fair but I worry that I might get overwhelmed. Can also sell on E Bay/Etsy/FB Marketplace & directly to antique shops, although of course they would take their cut. I swing between huge excitement & huge panic!! And I need to win the lottery!
Had a very productive day yesterday ( that’s one of DM’s fav words!) clearing, sorting, discovering lots more to sell to recoup my big spend & finding my kitchen table! I tidied out my bedside drawers too & made a start on making the lounge look less like a warehouse. Needless to say, I haven’t been on the decluttering thread for some weeks!
In between all this wheeling & dealing I’m doing more mundane stuff like laundry, dishwasher & food shopping. Need to pop to Asda which I’m not looking forward to as it will probably be crazy. Did a shop at Tescos last night but we need more. I really fancy roast spuds for tea so will buy pork loin steaks & broccoli to go with them. DH & I are off together for a few days & have trips planned, including Kynance Cove. DD17 is excited as she & GF are viewing a couple of rental properties in the next couple of weeks. She’s already started boxing up her belongings - mammoth task & the room will need fumigating!!! Looking forward to when she’s away for the viewings. Love her dearly but she’s hard work! DH’s birthday tomorrow - not sure what he wants to do. Never one for a fuss. We might have Indian delivered. Have a great couple of days folks ♥️

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 30/08/2026 12:26

Good afternoon lucysmam and others. I had a pain filled night (gallbladder issues) and felt pretty grim when I got up so headed back to bed. I'm about to get up again and gently potter. Enjoy the rest of your day

SereneReader · 30/08/2026 12:34

Had a lovely lie in then made a bacon and egg butty.

Have a bit of a tidy, fold the laundry. Unpack the Tesco delivery, then I'm off for a swim.

No idea what is for tea, will pick something g from the delivery, then it's flicking around the telly, chatting to DH who is recovering g from surgery and bed.

mondaytosunday · 30/08/2026 12:40

Again afternoon, and again just eating first meal of the day. Sundays are always low key - throw something comfortable on and potter around the house. Son is at the Victorious Festival and DD is still in her room. One cat asleep under my feet and the other munching on her kibble.
Lovely day sunny and not too warm. Back doors wide open. Garden still a dry wasteland …
Goal today is to get rid of a big pile of clothes on by chest of drawers. Slowly slowly- have decided to sell my house next year and move for a year into my tiny two bed in Fulham while my DD does a year abroad and then buy a bigger place. Which means streamlining all my possessions. And then doing it again.
Dinner is lasagna my son made while I was in the hospital and is now defrosting.
